Me again! Writing from the East of Pretoria where we are going on day eight living like campers in our own homes. 😉 We have just been informed that the new cables have once again been stolen.
The power went on yesterday morning and off again yesterday afternoon only to go off again today. It actually feels like tennis, deja-vu or a practical joke someone is playing on you. When the power do go on we all rush to shower, blow our hair and throw some much-needed washing in! Our eyes begin to gleam as we put on our fridges (well what’s left in them as most fridges are totally defrosted by now) and only to face the unexpected once again. People have been making jokes on social media, some even created songs about their misery, compassion and the roar of generators filling the sound of silence.
For the common household it is do-able up to a point but businesses are closing their doors and facing real financial loss. Me on the other hand are catching up on some much-needed reading while trying to stay calm.
For now I can say nothing more than… only in South Africa.
Will update again soon.
PS: Think of me while having your warm cup of tea.

Do you have power shortage there? How long does the power usually go out?

Hi! Yes we do! Two to three hours at a time. This was the longest one ever.. felt like we were on a episode of survival.
